This policy explains what information Hostel Bites (the “App”) collects, how it's used, and what choices you have. If you have questions, email info@woltrap.com.
What we collect
Hostel Bites does not require you to create an account. We collect three categories of data:
- Advertising identifiers and ad-interaction data — collected by Google AdMob, our ad provider, when ads are displayed in the App. This may include your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS), IP address, and information about ads you view or tap. Google uses this to serve ads and measure ad performance.
- Reviews you submit — when you rate a recipe and leave a comment, your display name, rating, and comment text are stored on our server and shown publicly in the App. Don't enter information you don't want others to see.
- Basic technical data — server logs may contain your IP address and device type for diagnostic and abuse-prevention purposes. These logs are retained for up to 30 days.
What we do not collect
- We do not require sign-up. We do not collect your email, phone number, or location.
- Your favorites are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers.
- We do not sell personal data.
How we use this information
- To display the App's content (recipes, reviews).
- To serve ads via Google AdMob, which keeps the App free.
- To diagnose crashes, performance issues, and abuse.
Third-party services
- Google AdMob — see Google's advertising privacy disclosures. On iOS, you can decline tracking when prompted, or opt out at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Recipe sources — recipe text and images are sourced from publicly available web pages and attributed to their original publishers. Tapping a recipe's source link will open the publisher's website, which has its own privacy policy.
Children's privacy
Hostel Bites is rated 4+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
To request deletion of a review you submitted, or to ask any other privacy question, email info@woltrap.com with the approximate date and recipe name. We respond within 30 days.
You can reset or limit the iOS advertising identifier any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page tells you when. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the new policy.
