Privacy Policy

Effective date: 23 June 2026

Jeb (“the app”) is a personal money tracker built and maintained by Woltrap. This policy explains, in plain language, what Jeb does and does not do with your information.

TL;DR

Jeb has no account and no server of its own. All your data — transactions, accounts, plans, budgets, and receipt photos — is stored on your device in a local database. There is no Jeb backend, no analytics SDK, and no advertising SDK. Optional backup and sync go to your own iCloud (on Apple) or your own Google Drive (on Android) — accounts that belong to you, not to us. We never see your financial data.

What Jeb stores on your device

Everything you enter into Jeb is saved locally on your device in a SQLite database, including:

  • Transactions, categories, and recurring rules.
  • Accounts, wallets, balances, and transfers.
  • Plans (assets, loans, and giving such as zakat).
  • Budgets and your home-screen layout preferences.
  • Optional receipt photos you attach to transactions.
  • App settings — theme, app-lock preference, and reminders.

This data stays on your device. It is removed when you uninstall the app (a copy may remain in your own cloud backup if you enabled sync — see below).

Cloud backup & sync (optional, your own account)

If you turn on sync, Jeb backs up your data to a private folder in a cloud account that is yours:

  • On Apple devices — your own iCloud, using the system iCloud you're already signed into.
  • On Android — your own Google Drive, after you grant access to a Jeb app folder.
  • Sync uses a last-write-wins merge with soft-delete tombstones, and includes your receipt files. Jeb backs up when you open the app and as you leave it.
  • This data lives in your cloud account under your control. Woltrap has no access to it, no copy of it, and no server in the middle. Its handling is governed by Apple's or Google's privacy terms.

Network

Jeb makes only two kinds of network connections, and neither sends your financial data to Woltrap:

  • Exchange rates — to show multi-currency totals, Jeb fetches live exchange rates from a free, key-less public source and caches them on your device. These requests contain no personal or financial information; if they fail, Jeb falls back to bundled offline rates.
  • Your own cloud — if you enabled sync, Jeb talks directly to your iCloud or Google Drive as described above.

What Jeb does not collect

  • No Jeb account — there is no sign-up and no login to us.
  • No bank logins or bank connections — you enter data yourself.
  • No advertising identifiers (IDFA, GAID).
  • No analytics events, no crash telemetry, no usage tracking.
  • No contacts, no location, no microphone access.

Permissions

  • Camera / Photos — only if you choose to attach a receipt photo. Images are stored with your data and never sent to Woltrap.
  • Biometrics (Face ID / fingerprint) — only if you enable app lock. The check is performed by your operating system; Jeb never sees your biometric data.
  • Notifications — only if you enable the daily reminder. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device.

Exporting your data

Your data is always yours to take with you. Jeb can export to CSV and PDF at any time, directly from the app.

Children

Jeb does not collect data from anyone, including children, and contains no ads or third-party content.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be published at this URL with an updated effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
